Restoration and renovation of six villas belonging to the complex known as “Castiglion del Bosco” was completed 2010. The six farmhouses, Villa Alba – Villa Gauggiole – Villa Biondi – Villa Stabbi – Casa del Fiume, and Villa Sant’Anna which originally, in the 17th and 18th centuries were built to serve as farmhouses, are located in the heart of the countryside in Val D’Orcia. The restoration has transformed them into luxury villas, with great attention to detail in order to preserve the original Sienese colours, and the artisanal and historical heritage of the old farmhouses. Each villa has undergone large-scale work on both the structural and architectural parts. The external walls and foundations have been completely reinforced and the internal floors and roofs have been meticulously reconstructed as they were originally conceived. The architectural work was carried out with the utmost accuracy both from the point of view of the materials used and the building itself, reconstructing hand-crafted Tuscan flooring and restoring historical ornamental objects. The high-tech mechanical and electrical systems have been harmonised with the structures to limit their impact on the external environment. The work is completed by the construction of high-tech health and fitness facilities. All the villas have swimming pools and tennis courts blended harmoniously into the pre-existing environment.
